Hibernian have completed the signing of 19-year-old winger Owen Elding from League of Ireland Premier Division side Sligo Rovers. The Scottish Premiership club announced the transfer on January 28, 2026, with Elding signing a four-and-a-half-year contract.

The fee remains undisclosed, but reports suggest an initial payment of approximately €400,000, potentially rising to over €1 million with add-ons. Elding was named PFA Ireland Men's Young Player of the Year for 2025 after scoring 12 league goals for Sligo Rovers last season.

The versatile player, who can operate as a forward or on the right wing, had attracted interest from several European clubs, including Austrian side Sturm Graz. He is currently finalising his eligibility to represent the Republic of Ireland at under-21 level.
