Hearts Hold Celtic in Thrilling Tynecastle Draw

Football

Hearts and Celtic played out a 2-2 draw in the Scottish Premiership, with a controversial Celtic red card sparking debate.

Hearts drew 2-2 with Celtic at Tynecastle Park on Sunday, January 25, in a Scottish Premiership encounter. Celtic took an early lead through Benjamin Nygren's seventh-minute free-kick. Stuart Findlay then equalised for Hearts in the 48th minute, but Hyun-Jun Yang restored Celtic's advantage in the 62nd minute.

Celtic defender Auston Trusty received a red card in the 75th minute for denying a clear goalscoring opportunity on Hearts striker Landry Kabore. Referee Steven McLean initially showed a yellow card before upgrading it to red after a VAR review.

Celtic manager Martin O'Neill believed the sending off "had a major effect" on the final 20 minutes and insisted it was "not a red card at all". Claudio Braga secured a late equaliser for Hearts in the 87th minute, with Celtic playing with ten men.
