Forest Goalkeeper Victor Out for Season with Knee Injury

Football

Nottingham Forest's Brazilian goalkeeper John Victor will miss the remainder of the season due to a significant knee injury.

Nottingham Forest goalkeeper John Victor has been ruled out for the rest of the current season. The 29-year-old sustained a knee injury during Forest's 3-1 Premier League defeat against Aston Villa earlier in January.

Victor suffered the injury on 3 January while conceding Villa's third goal to John McGinn. He later underwent a minor operation, but the recovery period means he will not feature again this term, according to Sky Sports News.

The injury leaves Forest with Matz Sels as first-choice goalkeeper and Angus Gunn as the primary back-up. The club has reportedly renewed interest in Wolves goalkeeper Jose Sa to bolster their options. Victor joined Forest from Botafogo last summer, making nine appearances across all competitions, including five Premier League starts.
