Manchester United midfielder Tyler Fletcher has joined the Scotland Under-21 squad for upcoming European Championship qualifiers.

Scotland Under-21 head coach Scot Gemmill has named Tyler Fletcher in his squad for the upcoming double-header against the Czech Republic and Portugal. The Manchester United midfielder, who is the son of former Scotland captain Darren Fletcher, receives his first call-up to the under-21 age group, per the Scottish Football Association.

Fletcher previously represented both Scotland and England at youth levels before committing to the Scottish set-up last year. The 17-year-old midfielder has featured regularly for United at under-18 level this season. Gemmill has also included 10 other players from the previous squad as Scotland continues its qualifying campaign for the 2027 UEFA European Under-21 Championship, according to Sky Sports.

Scotland currently sits in second place in Group B. The squad will travel to face the Czech Republic on 20 March before hosting Portugal at Tynecastle Park on 24 March. These fixtures represent a significant opportunity for Fletcher to make his debut at this international level, per the Scottish FA.
