Chelsea defender Marc Cucurella has admitted he would find it difficult to reject a potential transfer back to his former club Barcelona.

Chelsea defender Marc Cucurella says it would be hard to turn down a return to Barcelona. The Spanish international progressed through the youth ranks at the Catalan club but made only one senior appearance before departing. He joined Chelsea from Brighton and Hove Albion in 2022 for a fee of £62m, per Sky Sports.

Cucurella is currently under contract at Stamford Bridge until June 2028. Speaking to the media, the 25-year-old left-back acknowledged his history with the La Liga side. He stated that while he is happy in London, the opportunity to rejoin his boyhood team is a prospect he cannot easily ignore.

Chelsea currently sit in the bottom half of the Premier League table following a series of inconsistent results, according to the Guardian. The club faces potential pressure to sell players to comply with Profit and Sustainability Rules. However, no formal approach has been made by Barcelona for the defender at this stage, per ESPN reporting.
