The Rwanda Football Federation has confirmed the reappointment of Stephen Constantine as head coach of the men's national team. The 63-year-old returns to the role on a contract lasting two years, according to Reuters. He previously managed the side between 2014 and 2015, during which time Rwanda reached its highest ever FIFA world ranking of 64th.
Constantine replaces Torsten Spittler, who departed the position earlier this year. The London-born coach has extensive experience in international management, having led the national teams of India, Malawi, Sudan, and Nepal. He also managed the Pakistan men's national team during their 2026 World Cup qualifying campaign, per AP News.
His primary objective involves guiding Rwanda through the remainder of the 2026 World Cup and 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying cycles. Rwanda currently occupies third place in their World Cup qualifying group. Constantine has managed across four different continents during a career spanning more than two decades, per The Guardian.
