Charlton Athletic defender Conor Coady has been discharged following a series of scans after being knocked out on Easter Monday.

Coady received the all-clear and returned home on Monday evening after being taken to hospital for assessment, according to Charlton Athletic. The 33-year-old on-loan defender lost consciousness during the final stages of a 1-1 draw against Watford at Vicarage Road. The former England international required nine minutes of treatment on the pitch after Tom Ince’s shot struck him in the head during second-half stoppage time.

Manager Nathan Jones confirmed Coady went to hospital as a precaution but hoped the player could be with his family tonight, per the Independent. The match was the 500th first-team appearance of Coady's career, as reported by South London Sport. Charlton had taken the lead through Matty Godden in the 62nd minute before Nestory Irankunda equalised for the hosts. The result leaves the Addicks 18th in the Championship table with 49 points from 41 matches, according to Football Web Pages.
