Linfield striker Cora Chambers has joined the Northern Ireland squad for the upcoming 2027 World Cup qualifiers against Malta.

Northern Ireland manager Tanya Oxtoby has included uncapped striker Cora Chambers in her squad for the 2027 World Cup qualifying fixtures against Malta. The Linfield forward receives her first senior international call-up following consistent domestic form. Midfielder Megan Bell expressed her approval of the selection, stating she is delighted for the striker to receive an opportunity at international level, according to the Irish Football Association.

Chambers previously represented Northern Ireland at youth levels, including the under-19 side. The senior team prepares for two matches against Malta as they begin their qualification campaign for the 2027 tournament. Bell noted that Chambers provides a different attacking option for the squad, per the Belfast Telegraph.

Oxtoby has also retained experienced players in the 23-player group for the April double-header. Northern Ireland aim to build momentum in their group after recent competitive performances. The squad will travel for the away fixture before hosting the return match, according to Northern Ireland World.
