Celtic have turned down a £17.3 million bid from Nottingham Forest for midfielder Arne Engels. The Scottish Premiership club received the improved offer from the Premier League side on transfer deadline day, February 2, 2026.
Forest had previously submitted a £14 million proposal for the Belgian international. Celtic manager Martin O'Neill stated Engels is not for sale, indicating he would only consider an offer around £100 million.
Engels, 22, joined Celtic in August 2024 from FC Augsburg for a fee of £11 million, signing a four-year contract. He primarily plays as a central midfielder but can also operate as a right-back or right winger. Celtic are keen to retain the player as they aim to compete for the Scottish Premiership title.
