Confederation of African Football president Patrice Motsepe has stated he would welcome a corruption investigation into the organisation.

Patrice Motsepe, the president of the Confederation of African Football (Caf), has expressed a zero-tolerance approach to corruption within the governing body. Speaking in Nairobi, Motsepe compared the impact of corruption to a cancer and stated he would welcome an investigation by any external authority. This follows reports concerning alleged governance issues and internal complaints regarding financial management within the Cairo-based organisation.

According to Reuters, Motsepe remains committed to transparency and improving the reputation of African football governance. He invited critics and investigators to scrutinise the confederation, insisting that any official found guilty of misconduct would be removed. The president emphasised that the body must maintain high ethical standards to attract global sponsors and investment.

Motsepe also confirmed that the organisation is working to ensure the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations proceeds as planned, per reports from Al Jazeera. He noted that administrative improvements are essential for the long-term success of the continental game. No formal charges have been brought against specific individuals at this stage.
