Birmingham City chairman Tom Wagner, 56, is making a good recovery after suffering a stroke. The Championship club confirmed the news on Wednesday, February 11, stating Wagner received immediate treatment and is now under excellent care. Chief executive Jeremy Dale issued a statement, confirming the American's progress and requesting privacy during his recovery.
Wagner will temporarily step back from his day-to-day responsibilities at both the club and Knighthead Capital Management to focus on his health. Despite this, he will remain closely connected to Birmingham City. The club emphasised that its operations and future plans are unaffected, continuing as normal under existing leadership. Knighthead, led by Wagner, assumed control of the Blues in July 2023 and has been actively involved in improving facilities and investing in transfers. Their commitment to the club's long-term vision, including plans for a new 62,000-seater stadium, remains unchanged.
