Fans of the Premier League's six richest clubs pay an average of £74 per match, according to data from Deloitte. The Sport Business Group report found that matchday revenue for these teams reached £831m during the 2023-24 season. This figure represents a 15 percent increase from the previous year, driven by higher ticket prices and demand for premium seating.
Manchester City, Manchester United, Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea, and Tottenham Hotspur all recorded significant growth in commercial and broadcast income. Despite the rising costs for supporters, stadiums across the top flight operated at 98 percent capacity. Total revenue for all 20 Premier League clubs surpassed £6bn for the first time, per the Deloitte Football Money League.
Rising costs have prompted fan groups to call for greater ticket price protections. However, clubs continue to invest in stadium expansions and corporate facilities to further increase matchday yields. The Football Supporters Association noted that loyalty is being tested as prices outpace inflation, according to The Guardian.
