Atletico Madrid have completed the transfer of Nigeria international Ademola Lookman from Italian club Atalanta. The 28-year-old forward joins the Spanish side for a reported fee of £30.3m, as confirmed by the BBC. Lookman has signed a long-term contract with Atletico, committing his future to the club until 2031.
The agreement between the clubs was reached over the weekend, with Lookman undergoing a medical in Madrid on Monday. His move follows a highly successful period at Atalanta, where he became a key attacking player. He made 137 appearances across all competitions for the Italian outfit, scoring 55 goals and providing 27 assists. A significant highlight of his time there was a historic hat-trick in the 2024 UEFA Europa League final. Lookman previously played for Everton, Leicester City, and Fulham in England, and RB Leipzig in Germany.
