Aston Villa progressed to the Europa Conference League last eight after a 4-0 second-leg victory against Ajax at Villa Park.

Unai Emery's side secured their place in the quarter-finals following a goalless draw in the first leg. Ollie Watkins opened the scoring with a header after 25 minutes before leaving the pitch with a knee injury. Leon Bailey doubled the lead on 60 minutes after intercepting a pass in the final third, according to Sky Sports.

Ajax midfielder Kristian Hlynsson received a second yellow card for a foul on John McGinn, reducing the visitors to 10 men. Jhon Duran added a third goal with a strike that hit the underside of the bar. Moussa Diaby completed the scoring late in the match to ensure Villa's progression, per The Guardian.

Victory keeps Aston Villa in contention for their first major trophy since 1996. The club currently sits fourth in the Premier League table with 55 points from 28 matches. Emery has won 11 consecutive home matches in European knockout ties, extending a record that began during his time at Sevilla.
