Arsenal defender Oleksandr Zinchenko has completed a permanent transfer to Dutch club Ajax. The move was confirmed on February 1, 2026, following the early termination of his season-long loan spell at Nottingham Forest by mutual consent.
Zinchenko, 29, joined Arsenal from Manchester City in 2022, making 91 appearances across all competitions for the Gunners during his three seasons. He played a pivotal role in Arsenal's Premier League title challenge in his first year. His loan at Nottingham Forest, which began in summer 2025, saw him feature in 10 games before it was cut short.
The Ukrainian international has signed a short-term contract with Ajax, running until the end of the current season. Reports indicate the transfer fee for the defender is around €1.5 million, with potential Champions League-related bonuses for Arsenal. This move marks a new chapter for Zinchenko in the Eredivisie.
