Former West Ham United striker Michail Antonio is expected to sign for Al-Sailiya in Qatar, according to Sky Sports. The 35-year-old forward had been in discussions with League One side Charlton Athletic regarding a potential return to The Valley. However, those talks concluded without an agreement, per The Guardian.
Antonio has not played competitive football since sustaining serious injuries in a car crash in late 2024. The move to the Qatari second-tier side is intended to help the Jamaica international regain match fitness before seeking a move back to the English leagues. He spent nine seasons at West Ham, where he became the club's all-time leading Premier League goalscorer with 67 goals.
Al-Sailiya currently competes in the Qatargas League and views the experienced striker as a significant addition to its squad for the remainder of the campaign. Antonio remains a free agent following the expiration of his contract at the London Stadium last summer.
