Liverpool have confirmed that defender Andy Robertson will depart Anfield when his current contract expires at the end of the season.

Liverpool have announced that Andy Robertson will leave the club when his contract expires this summer. The Scotland captain joined the Merseyside club from Hull City in 2017 for an initial fee of £8m. During his nine-year tenure at Anfield, he has won the Premier League, Champions League, FA Cup, and two League Cups, according to Sky Sports.

Robertson has made more than 300 appearances for the club and holds the record for the most assists by a defender in Premier League history. The 32-year-old left-back became a core part of the squad under former manager Jurgen Klopp. Liverpool officials confirmed the news on Thursday, marking the end of a successful era for the defender at the club.

He is expected to feature in the remaining fixtures of the current campaign before his departure in June. Per The Guardian, the club has not yet commented on potential replacements or Robertson's next destination. The defender remains a regular starter in the first team as they conclude their season.
