Aberdeen Sign Norway International Keeper Bratveit

Aberdeen Football Club has completed the signing of Norwegian international goalkeeper Per Kristian Bratveit on an 18-month contract.

Aberdeen have secured the services of Norwegian international goalkeeper Per Kristian Bratveit, aged 29, on an 18-month deal. He joins the Pittodrie club as a free agent, having recently departed Strømsgodset.

The signing addresses a goalkeeping concern following an ankle injury to backup keeper Nick Suman, which will sideline him for several months. Bratveit is expected to provide competition for current number one Dimitar Mitov.

Bratveit has one senior cap for Norway, earned in a 2020 UEFA Nations League match against Austria. His career includes spells at Haugesund, Djurgårdens IF, where he won the Swedish league in 2019, Groningen, Nîmes, Vålerenga, AGF, and Odd.

Aberdeen sporting director Lutz Pfannenstiel highlighted Bratveit's extensive experience across various leagues. The new keeper will not be eligible for the upcoming match against Livingston, pending international clearance.
